Italian painter Pietro Faccini was most remembered for his style of painting concerning the Mannerism and Baroque periods. He was also known for being the main biographer of the early Bolognese Baroque period, and even apprenticed with Ludovico and Annibale Carracci in his early twenties.
Although he only had about a dozen works discovered, his 1590 painting, Martyrdom of Saint Lawrence, is still featured in Bologna at the church of San Giovanni in Monte.
His most famous work was Christ and the Virgin Mary appear before St. Francis of Assisi.
